Sharon Frazier\u2019s artistic sensibility has been strongly influenced by the brilliant coloring and historic architecture of the island of Puerto Rico, where she grew up. The texture of light and depth of shadow she seeks are recorded with pastels on handmade paper; or oil on canvas. Sharon Frazier\u2019s artistic sensibility has been strongly influenced by the brilliant coloring and historic architecture of the island of Puerto Rico, where she grew up. The texture of light and depth of shadow she seeks are recorded with pastels on handmade paper; or oil on canvas. She began painting at the age of eight when her father, a landscape architect, showed her how to use professional grade pastels. At age 16 she studied oil color mixing and brushwork with John Korver, who painted in the artistic tradition of the Dutch masters.<\/p>
